Amr used to describe himself as being shy and reserved in public.
This changed when he consulted with Dr. Pekar and got a new lease on his smile. Like many children Amr lost a baby tooth, but an adult replacement didn’t grow in to fill his smile. This left a gap, even after braces. Hiding his disappointment, Amr’s smile is missing from the family pictures. Amr heard about a crown being supported by a dental implant. This titanium anchor is integrated in the bone to act as a root substitute. It would look and feel like the other teeth.
The procedure took about an hour and Amr left with an intact trial smile.
At ten weeks Amr’s bone attachment to the implant was sufficiently strong to proceed. The natural shade of his other teeth was matched and the new tooth put in place. The once shy boy now has an opportunity to beam his new smile far and wide.
Advancements in technology allow people to have quality of life and health that were only emerging two decades ago.
Dr.Pekar notes it was a pleasure to provide minimal dentistry which means leaving as much of a natural smile intact as possible.
